HOW TO MAKE $150 IN AN HOUR WITH FOCUS GROUPS AND GET A FREE COFFEE TOO!

HAPPY TO SHARE YOUR VIEWS ON HAIR PRODUCTS OR POLITICS? IF SO, YOU CAN EASILY MAKE UP TO $150 AN HOUR FROM ANYWHERE, TAKING PART IN MARKET RESEARCH!

Happy to give your views on hair products or politics? If so, it's possible to earn up to $150 an hour, without any special skill with online focus groups.

The other day I got an email in my inbox that said:

“Sara, you might be a fit for a $150.00 study!”

If it wasn’t coming from a legit consumer research company, I wouldn’t even have opened it! But I knew the company really well and knew that this was a real money-making opportunity.

It was for a study about hair care purchase and routine!

But hey, $150 for an hour of my time? Why not?

That’s pretty special, and not that easy to find!

I used survey companies before! And as much as I love Swagbucks for their Gold Surveys and cashback (I made over $200 in a couple of months, just by buying through their links! So you should really subscribe for free…), $150 for an hour is not bad at all!

And as I am always super interested in side hustles and ways to make extra money, I decided to do a little research to find other companies that look for people to do paid focus groups, either in person or online.

And the great thing about online focus groups? You can do it from anywhere!

So you can take part in some of these, no matter where you are or your nationality!

Table of contents

But what is a Focus Group?

A focus group is a small group of people that have been invited to share their opinions.

Focus groups can be conducted in-person or online.

They are normally used for market research for new or existing products, to be able to determine people’s attitude towards specific branding, usability, packaging or ideas. They can also be used for political campaigns and opinions research. You can think about paid focus groups as much more in-depth surveys.

They normally involve you giving opinions and answering questions on a specific subject, get some free coffee, and go home with an extra $50-$150 in your pocket!

More and more companies are now using paid research studies to get a much better understanding of the market and trends, and connect with the consumers, not only locally but around the world.

How Focus Groups Work

In-Person

If you find an in-person focus group near you, you will be expected to attend the interview in person. You will normally be interviewed within a group where each participant is able to talk to each other.

There is normally a researcher or moderator to lead the group and take notes and ask questions, and record the results.

If you join an in-person focus group, you might need to go to more than one session, but you will be paid for each session you attend.

Online

An online focus group is very similar to an in-person focus group. You’ll need to join online via chat, on your tablet or smartphone. You’ll normally receive a link to access the focus group and from there you’ll be able to join the discussion and give your feedback.

There are some online focus groups that also use video or specific web-based software. You’ll need to download the software ahead of your focus group research.

More and more research studies are now opting for online focus groups as it’s a lot less expensive for them: they can cut down on money spent for materials and staff, plus it makes it a lot easier to have a bigger pool of possible participants in the research study.

How Much You Can Expect to Earn With Paid Focus Groups

Each focus group will be different, but you can expect to make from $30 to $150 per focus group (although some very specific focus groups can pay up to $450 for an hour of your time!).

The amount you will receive will depend on the time you’ve spent, which is normally an hour or two.

You’ll normally get paid in cash, via PayPal, check or gift cards. Some market research companies pay with points that you can redeem using a specific credit card.

Make sure you know exactly how you’ll get your money before you agree to take part in a focus group!

How to Find Legit Focus Groups

Whether you are looking for online focus groups or in-person focus groups near you, you will have to be a bit patient as you have to go through a screening process before you can participate to any research study.

Consumer research companies are normally looking for people with very specific interests and profiles, and you are not going to be able to qualify all the time.

By joining as many companies as possible, you will be able to maximize your chances of qualifying for as many focus groups as possible.

But before you start signing up, spend a couple of minutes to check out the company and make sure it’s legit. The last thing you want is to waste your time and get scammed online!

Read all the fine prints and check their Facebook pages, to find out what kind of reviews they are getting. Like with all surveys companies, you’ll never find a 5-star rating from everyone! Some people will love them, some will hate them.

But lucky for you, I have done a lot of the hard work!

Top 15 Online Focus Group Companies

Here I put together for you a list of 15 companies that pay the biggest sums, to make the most of your time!

You will find info on how each company pays and if they accept registration from specific countries, cities, or from all over the world.

1. Respondent.io (my favorite)

Happy to give your views on hair products or politics? If so, it's possible to earn up to $150 an hour, without any special skill with online focus groups. Respondent.io

Respondent is my favorite option for in-person and online focus group studies and the one that got me the $150 focus group.

Their payout is great, up to $250 per research, sometimes more!

And they accept respondents from ALL OVER THE WORLD!

Respondent.io have projects that are available to US Residents as well as International. This means you don’t have to be in the US to join and earn from $50 to 250$ per research.

All you need to join is a PayPal account, and either Facebook or LinkedIn to connect your profile too.

This is how it works:

  1. After you have created your account you’ll be able to browse all the open studies.
  2. You apply to participate in studies that you think are a good fit for you.
  3. The researcher/sponsor of the study reviews responses and sends invitations to respondents that are the best fit.
  4. If you receive an invitation to participate, you choose a time that suits you from those made available by the researcher.
  5. After you have completed the study, you are paid via PayPal.

Respondents are paid the cash incentive amount advertised by the researcher, less a 5% (or a $1 fulfillment fee whichever is higher). Example: If the cash incentive is $150 you will receive $142.50 via PayPal.

I know you’ll love it, and you’ll soon find something that’s right up your alley! Just sign up here.

I wish it was possible to qualify for one a day! Lol!

Popular Cryptocurrency Hedge Funds

TROPTIONS RELATED .jpg

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum (and other altcoins) continue to make headlines and attract new investments, but they are still considered high risk and are speculative at best. That’s because cryptocurrency is only a decade old at this point, and is not (by its nature) backed by any government like fiat currency is. This makes it a new industry in a highly unregulated space, and that creates risk.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t make a lot of money with cryptocurrency. Many people do and it’s is the potential to make a lot of money quickly that is attracting hedge fund investors.

According to dictionary.com hedge funds are “a mutual fund organized in a limited partnership using high risk, speculative methods to obtain large profits.”

All investments carry risk, but both hedge funds and cryptocurrency carry more than average risk. Before you invest in a cryptocurrency hedge fund there are some things that you should know.

What to Know Before You Invest in a Cryptocurrency Hedge Fund

While it is possible to earn a lot of money very quickly in cryptocurrency hedge funds, it’s also possible that you can lose every bit of capital that you invest, as again, these are very volatile, risky, and speculative investments.

Cryptocurrencies are currently more like gambling than a traditional investment strategy of putting money into the broader stock market. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t investigate them, just that you need to be aware of the risks that you are taking.

The value of cryptocurrency can go up as fast as it can go down. There is a lot of hype around cryptocurrency now, and that hype can lead to bubbles and crashes.

Now that I’ve gone over the risk potential, let’s look at three of the cryptocurrency hedge funds are out there and what makes them unique.

Cryptocurrency Hedge Funds

Pantera Capital

Currently Pantera Capital is managing over $700 million across five cryptocurrency funds in two different venture funds. You must have over $100,000 to invest in order to be eligible to invest in this fund. That makes this fund best for institutional investors or investors with very high net worth. This firm has been around since 2013, so it’s relatively old for a cryptocurrency hedge fund.

You’ll find that returns in this fund are all over the place, with the fund taking major drops this year. But if you have the money to invest (and potentially lose), it may be worth your time checking out.

CoinCapital

CoinCapital is more suited to individual investors than Pantera Capital, although they are still looking for people with a net worth of over $2.1 million. This hedge fund invests in a variety of cryptocurrencies, blockchain startups, and individual coin offerings. They manage over 40 different cryptocurrencies including many popular ones like Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin, Ripple, and Dash.

One of the things that make CoinCapital stand out is that it’s managed by a team that has marketing, sales, and finance backgrounds.

BitcoinsReserve

BitcoinsReserve runs a unique cryptocurrency hedge fund called the Arbitrage fund. This fund automatically trades across different cryptocurrency exchanges in order to “correct market inefficiencies”.

This is an interesting strategy because many cryptocurrencies will follow different prices across different cryptocurrency exchanges. By taking advantage of these price differentials, the arbitrage fund seeks to gain profits. BitcoinsReserve is the most accessible fund of this bunch for average people. One of the other things that are unique about this fund is that their website is much less gated. You can find out exactly what they do and who they are without having to fill out long forms.

WARNING: There are also many other crypto hedge funds available to invest in, but it pays to keep in mind that hedge funds are high risk by nature because they are looking for significant, short-term gains instead of long-term, slower growth. When you combine that risk profile with the inherent riskiness of the cryptocurrency market you can get a lot of volatility and lose a lot of money very quickly.

If you decide to invest in cryptocurrency hedge funds, then make sure you are investing money that you have to lose and understand the risks you are taking. Cryptocurrency is an exciting development, but it’s too early to tell if it will have staying power or collapse after a bunch of hype.

Facebook Libra Interest Spikes, Pushing The Bitcoin Price On

Facebook Libra, a potential rival to bitcoin, has reportedly secured backing from the likes of ride-hailing app Uber, music streaming service Spotify, and payments giant Visa. While Facebook Libra, which has also been linked to the name GlobalCoin, might compete directly with bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies, many have taken it as an endorsement of bitcoin’s core technology and value.

Elsewhere, Facebook’s social media rival Twitter is looking to bitcoin itself as the potential “future of internet money,” with chief executive Jack Dorsey last week reiterating his faith in bitcoin and beginning to make cryptocurrency hires at his payments company Square.

Facebook’s bitcoin rival will likely be a so-called stable coin, pegged to the U.S. dollar and other major currencies, and is expected to be integrated as a payment tool on Facebook’s popular messaging apps WhatsApp and Messenger, and photo-sharing app Instagram.

Facebook will reportedly cede control of the bitcoin rival to “an independent foundation” in an effort to both deflect accusations of centralization and soothe financial regulators.

https---blogs-images.forbes.com-billybambrough-files-2019-06-libra-facebook-bitcoin.jpg
Interest in Facebook’s Libra has been climbing over the past 24 hours as speculation on how it will impact bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency market reaches fever pitch. GOOGLE TRENDS

“Facebook is essentially trying to create a stable medium of exchange that can be used for making payments across its networks and therefore across borders. Think the current functionality of Wechat, Venmo, and PayPal but instead of transacting pounds and dollars, users will be transacting in Facebook’s Libra,” said George McDonaugh, chief executive of cryptocurrency and blockchain investment firm KR1.

“Facebook’s Libra will not compete with bitcoin but rather validates the underlying blockchain technology more than ever. Bitcoin is open, borderless, permissionless, censorship-resistant, publicly verifiable and immutable. Facebook’s coin cannot be any of these things.”

Bitcoin has again broken its year-to-date highs over the past 24 trading period, climbing to $9,478 on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange and coming within spitting distance of the psychological $10,000 mark for the first time since May last year.

Bitcoin traders and investors are looking ahead to next year’s bitcoin halvening event which will see the daily bitcoin supply cut by half overnight, with some predicting this will cause a “supply shock.”

https---blogs-images.forbes.com-billybambrough-files-2019-06-bitcoin-price-chart-6.jpg
The bitcoin price has been climbing steadily as momentum and mainstream media interest drums up support for the cryptocurrency. COINDESK

For now, cryptocurrency traders are piling into litecoin ahead of its own halvening event, expected in August. The litecoin price is up more than 300% since the beginning of the year as investors bet the coming supply squeeze will push prices higher.

Mining asteroids could unlock untold wealth – here’s how to get started

START WHERE YOU BEGIN

Artist’s impression of a solar-powered satellite on a mining mission. NASA

Several privately funded space companies are locked in a race to claim the trillions of pounds worth of precious metals thought to exist in asteroids. The UK has now entered the race, with the Asteroid Mining Corporation becoming the first of these new firms in the country.

In theory, the business case speaks for itself – the incredible expense of space missions would be more than compensated for. But how do you actually go about mining an asteroid? How do you pick one to mine? These are some of the questions I’ve been pondering while carrying out a feasibility study for the corporation.

Asteroids can be categorized as being made of carbon, silicon or metal. Mining companies are particularly interested in metallic asteroids, but their compositions are still not well understood. Scientific investigations into asteroids – such as NASA’s…

My 6 step beard routine

I am an early bird, I usually get up and wash my face, brush my teeth, and get my beard ready for the day.

Step 1
I spray distilled water on my beard to wake it up from the night before. I do not do my beard dry, that will cause breakage and you will destroy your beard.
Step 2
I massage the water in to loosen up my beard. I do not dry my beard after spraying distilled water on it. I leave the water still kinda dripping water.
Step 3
I use The Hubris Company beard oil to seal in the water. It smells really good and feels even better.
Step 4
I massage it in myself. If my other half was up this early I would have her massage it in, she’s never up at 4:30am. It helps stimulate the beard which helps it grow. It feels good when you do it yourself, but there is nothing like letting your girl touching your face/beard.
Step 5
The Hubris Company Pomade! I apply it and massage it in sealing in the water and the oil.
Step 6
I use a boars hair brush to brush in all that goodness and to get down close to my skin to work it all in.
Same Step
Make sure to brush it in completely. Your skin and beard will thank you.
That Beard Tho!
And there you have it. I do not shape my beard up. I want it to grow fully and then I will cut i….maybe.

Pivot.

Swift
On my Rainman

I have been thinking about how I can scale my business. I started with 8 t-shirts. We grew that to a full on custom t-shirt business that did rather well, but it tied me to my house and kept me from doing more in the marketing and promotion area.

You should see my business plan. It has insane notes made all over it – determining viability, re-creating my business plan, figuring out money, getting family behind you, choosing the business name, registering a domain name, incorporating and figuring out our legal structure has been all I have been on lately – while my current store is open and operational; we are doing well right now but I want to be doing great.

I’m all in.

So we scaled to print on demand. It does well but we are stuck doing like Coco-Cola did when the began. It took Coca-Cola 18 months to sell an entire case of pop/soda.

Got coca-cola.jpgDeez is a catchy name but the brand still needs time to grow on people. So we decided to take on other brands and use our brand name and store to promote other brands. That is really working out better for us and it helps get our name and brand out there. I myself, love this idea, this is where we pivot and create a level of value that cannot be ignored.

We have added a few product lines and brands that do well in our store. The Hubris Company, Turbo Fit, HD Physiques, and XIII XIII to name a few.

Got Deez will remain as an online retail store but our goal is to open brick and mortar stores in strategic places around the world.

I want to offer the maximum amount of value to a target audience that is looking for the experience and value we offer. I want to build a brand that will be around like Levi’s, Coca-Cola, and Ford.

So we are going to expand our product categories to the following:

So to my family and friends, please forgive me as I will be short with you on the phone and not showing up to many functions – I won’t be available for a lot of shit for a minute. This is going to take a laser beam focus and so that means I will be cutting everything else out.
